Dr. Staples was born in Guatemala and immigrated to California at the young age of three. In 1987, she received her undergraduate Biology degree from the University of California (UC), Berkeley and graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 1991. Dr. Staples practiced as an optometrist in Dublin, CA for 28 years before moving to Sacramento County.
In addition to spending time with her husband and twin boys, Dr. Staples enjoys remodeling and decorating, and spends much of her time painting and sewing and making her home a comfortable place to throw parties for her friends and family.
